Commissioning a product

Can’t see quite what you are looking for from Rachel’s range of products in the shop? You’d like that bowl but in a different colour? Would a piece of glass art be an amazing addition to your home, restaurant or office? Rachel takes commissions for a wide range of fused glass projects from jewellery to glass art and even trophies for awards. Here’s what happens:

The process normally starts with you completing the initial product commissioning form outlining what you are looking for.

After this there is usually an initial meeting at the studio to discuss specific details using studio samples. You may want to bring along sketches, samples or photos. Depending on the project Rachel may need to make a site visit.

Rachel will produce a product brief outlining the specific details of the product, design, cost and lead times which will be sent to you for approval. There is a charge for producing the product brief to cover Rachel’s time. Once you have agreed a design with Rachel, she will order up the materials and get working on your special piece.

Once completed commissioned work can either be collected from the studio or delivered by Royal Mail First Class signed for unless installation had been arranged in advance.

Please note:

There is a charge for producing the design brief – it’s only fair: Rachel puts time into creating the design brief. Once the design brief has been signed off by the client any changes are subject to additional charges.

Site visits will incur additional charges.

All commissions must be paid in full before work starts.

Commissioned items are non-returnable and non-refundable unless faulty.
